Amanda Benton is a recipient of the September 2011 cycle for the Leeway Foundation Art and Change Grant! Her project " Bazaaro World " involves 3 fake advertisements presented in backlit mall displays at The Gallery at Market East in Philadelphia, PA. They will be on display from January 9th - February 5th. Both her exhibit and website are designed to promote a greater awareness of the relationship between the female gender (and related issues like sexuality, race, psychology, etc) and advertising.
AB will be giving an artist talk about her work at The University of the Arts , 320 South Broad St. Hamilton Hall -CBS room, Monday January 30th at 6:30 PM.
AB's poster was selected as one of the winners in a national poster competition, promoting the American Jobs Act!
Her poster will be used to help promote the American Jobs Act and can be purchased HERE .
All proceeds will go to Obama for America.

Amanda Benton is originally from Wilson, New York and is currently living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received a BA in Graphic Design and Printmaking from Houghton College in Western New York and an MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a designer, a printmaker, a book binder, a slave to the rapidograph, and the sometimes offending, occasionally perceptive, always well intentioned social critic.
